Diamond Ranch HS Coach
Kirk Donovan Resigns--(May 2, 2001)
This seems to be the day for reporting coaching changes in the high school ranks here in SoCal. . . . here's another: Diamond Ranch head coach Ken Donovan has announced that he's resigning as the coach of the Panthers after a four year run. He compiled a 15-11 record this past season, and his team finished third in the Miramonte League. While offering the statment to local media that the reason for his resignation was that he wanted to spend more time with his family and his 20-month old son, he also had applied for the Chino Hills head coaching job which was filled last month when Chino Hills hired former Bishop Amat Coach Ray Walker. Donovan will continue to teach at Diamond Ranch, but will not coach. Donovan, 34, has been the school's only head boys' basketball coach since it opened in 1997.
