Glendale College Vaquero Summer Tip-Off
Set For July 5-8 (May 31, 2001)

Since were starting to put together the summer schedule, we received some timely news this morning from Glendale coach Glenn Messick that Glendale College will again host the Second Annual "Vaquero Summer Tip-off Tournament."  

The tournament will be held  July 5-8 (Thurs-Sunday) with games beginning at 10:45 and running every hour and ten minutes. There are 16 teams in the field and they are: Grant, Compton, Taft, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Monroe, Alhambra, Harvard-Westlake, Glendale, La Salle, Sylmar, Hoover, Burroughs, Kennedy, and LA Marshall.

Some of the players to watch for in this tournament are:

Gino Riney (5'-11" So. PG) Grant
Frank Robinson (6'-5" Jr. SG) Chatsworth
Steve Smith (6'-1" So. G) Taft
Louis Darby (6'-4" Jr. G/F) Sylmar
