We just received late word of a really interesting senior all-star event which will be held this weekend at UC Riverside from our friends at IEBP. Here's the news:

The Inland All-Star Classic offers an exciting evening of Basketball. The Inland Empire Superstar Foundation and the Inland Empire Basketball Program will host a High School All-Star Extravaganza at UC Riverside on Sunday, May 20, 2001.

The Inland Empire Super Star Foundation in conjunction with the Inland Empire Basketball Program will host the 2nd Annual Best of the Inland All Star Classic on Sunday, May 20, 2001 at 5:00 p.m. in UC Riverside’s physical education gymnasium (old gym). The Classic will pick several outstanding college bound seniors in what figures to be their final Inland Empire appearance. In addition, the evening will feature a 3-point shooting contest and a slam-dunk contest. "This will be an outstanding opportunity to see some great Division I caliber athletes before they reach the next level. This game will be unique in that it isn’t County v. County but rather athletes from throughout the Inland Empire Region."  The event organizers are Keith Howard and Julius Patterson of IEBP.

Among the athletes scheduled to participate in the game are:

Jamal Williams (Corona Centennial High School) The Riverside County Player-of-the-Year. A first team all CIF Selection attending the University of New Mexico in the Fall.

Kevin Pinkney (Colton High School) A first team all San Bernardino County attending the University of Reno, Nevada in the Fall.
