Crescenta Valley's James Jenkins
Commits To San Jose State--(May 10, 2001)

According to both the LA Times and Recruiting USA, Crescenta Valley's James Jenkins (6'-8" Sr. F) has given a verbal commitment and will attend San Jose State next season.  The Times reported this morning that Jenkins would walk on at San Jose, and Recruiting USA  confirmed that James bypassed several scholarship offers in swimming (he's a national-level swimmer as well) in order to play basketball at the college level.  James was also recruited by Albany head coach Scott Beeton (formerly with Cal and close to the Rockfish program), and Portland State.  Jenkins visited Albany last fall but decided not to attend school back east.
