Nike Extravaganza VII Matchups
Announced For Next Year--(May 16, 2001)

Who says Steve Fryer never has any useful info?   Fryer's column this week in the Orange County Register featured one very informative tidbit, and we're surprised that he got the news this early. . . usually we don't hear about the Extravaganza matchups for at least 5 more months. . .Here's the word:

"The matchups for the Nike Extravaganza, Feb. 2, 2002 at the Pyramid at Long Beach State: Westminster-Glendora; Costa Mesa-Servite; Brea Olinda-Valley Center of San Diego (coached by Steve Brooks, former Los Alamitos coach); St. John Bosco of Bellflower-Ocean View; Centennial of Corona-Sonora; Santa Margarita-Green Valley of Las Vegas; Villa Park-Crenshaw of Los Angeles; Long Beach Poly-Vashon of St. Louis; and Mater Dei-Oak Hill Academy of Mouth of Wilson, Va. (which was widely considered to be this past season's national champion)."

Looking interesting.  Hopefully we'll see everyone there next February.
