Summer Stuff & School Year--(June 12, 2001)
We've been busy the past few days working (yes, real work), but we're catching up. Here's some stuff we came across the past few days which we thought we'd pass along:
Coaches Wanted
Santa Margarita High seeks lower-level boys' and girls' coaches. Contact Jerry DeBusk, (949) 766-6000, extension 2206, for boys' positions or Richard Schaaf, (949) 766-6000, extension 1061, for girls' positions. Obviously this announcement pertains to the school year, and not summer.

2001 Summer Camps:
Irvine: Boys and Girls Club summer basketball camp. Days: June 25-29. Time: 8 a.m.-noon (grades 3-5), 12:30-4:30 p.m. (grades 6-8). Site: Boys and Girls Club of Irvine. Fee: $130. Basics: Features 20 hours of personalized instruction designed to improve skill level of any player. Includes self-improvement program and written analysis. Rancho Santa Margarita: Jerry DeBusk Boys' Basketball Camps. Days: Session I for grades 1-6--June 25-29; Session II for grades 1-6--July 9-13; Session III for grades 7-8--July 2-26 (Monday-Thursday). Times: Session I--12:30 p.m.-3 p.m.; Session II--3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.; Session III--12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Site: Santa Margarita High. Fees: Session I--$125; Session II--$125; Sessions I and II--$225; Session III--$175. Basics: Camps emphasize skill development and competition. For information: (949) 766-6000, extension 2206.
Santa Ana: Tom Marumoto shooting and offensive skills camp. Days: July 23-27 and July 30-August 3. Sites: Eastbluff Boys and Girls Club and Century High School. Basics: For boys and girls. The first session is for grades 5-8, the second session is for grades 9-12. For information: (949) 644-5026.
Cal Poly Pomona's men's basketball team is sponsoring three camps this summer for boys and girls ages 7-15. Sessions will be June 18-22, July 23-27 and Aug. 13-17. Campers will receive a camp T-shirt, a campus tour, a daily lunch and analysis of their shooting technique. Registration is $160 with a discount for multiple weeks. For information: 869-2832
