Anthony Davis Changes His Mind
Twice;
Finally Decides To Enroll At LB State--(Aug. 27, 2001)
The Long Beach State coaches are breathing a huge sigh of relief, and Wayne Morgan is probably scratching his head wondering why in the world one of his fall signees is having trouble making up his mind about what to do when it comes to enrolling. According to Recruiting USA, Anthony Davis last week flip-flopped, first reporting to friends and family that he would not attend Long Beach state, and then, when he went to pick up his letter of release from the school, changing his mind again and deciding to enroll.
R-USA reported early last week that Davis, a 6'-4" outstanding shooter who attended several high schools (Locke, Cleveland, and Compton Centennial), and who also played for the Rockfish and Paladins travel teams, had changed his mind and decided not to enroll at Long Beach State, and instead was going to open up his recruitment. Apparently, Davis (or his older brother Louis, who has been deeply involved in Anthony's recruitment and decisions to transfer during his high school career), made clear that to the 49'er coaches that he had decided not to enroll in college, and instead would attend Bridgton Prep in Northampton, Maine.
But then later in the week, as Anthony was on his way over to Long Beach State to meet with the coaches to obtain a written release from his National Letter of Intent, he sat down and met with the coach, and again changed his mind. The bottom line is that Anthony will now reportedly enroll this week at LBSU when classes start for the fall semester.
