Rockfish's Tim Drisdom & Bryant
Markson
Both Commit To Utah--(Aug. 1, 2001)
This happened two days ago, so we're a bit late, but better late than never. Apparently, the rumors floating around the past few weeks, to the effect that Tim Drisdom (6'-4" Sr. PG) from Calvary Chapel Downey had committed to the Utes in early July were a bit premature, and Tim's parents needed to have a few questions answered before he committed so they took a trip up to Utah this past week to sit down with Rick Majerus, and following that trip (and while we were at UCLA with the Pump team on their unofficial visit), we learned that Tim had placed a call to Majerus from the Best of Summer Tournament to inform him of the decision.
Yesterday we also learned that Bryant Markson (6'-6" Sr. F) who also plays with Rockfish but who has been sidelined the entire summer with a torn ligament, also committed to the Utes, at least that's what Rockfish's Mark Mayemura and Dave Benezra are saying on their Recruiting USA website, and since they are also the coaches of the Rockfish team we feel pretty confident in confirming this one.
Getting commitments from these two players is excellent for Utah, and whether they are still going to be recruiting yet another guard like Richard Chaney (6'-5" Sr. G/F) remains to be seen, but we suspect that if Majerus can sign all three, he'll be a very happy man.
