2001 Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase:
Top 48 Seniors Rosters--(Sept. 9, 2001)

This game got going right on time at 4:00 p.m. and featured some of the better players in the rising senior class.  We know of only one no-show, and that was Bryce Prather (6'-9" Sr. F) from Villa Park, and we're not sure where he was, but he wasn't here, which was too bad because it would have made for an interesting matchup to see him playing against Paul Meynen (6'-11" Jr. F) from Redondo Union. Still there were some other excellent players, including some guys with some excellent athleticism and size, among them some quality D-I recruits.  We even learned a bit on the recruiting front from some of these guys.  Like the fact that Arizona has arranged a visit to Mayfair next week where Lute Olson will be looking at Justin Hawkins.   We also confirmed that Matt McCraw from Mayfair has been offered by D-II Western   Washington and will be taking a visit there in the next few weeks.  And we also confirmed that David Rhoiney from St. Anthony says he's committed to Navy.    And that Derrick Clark intended to transfer to Las Vegas, but has returned to Leuzinger because of a Nevada state rule which would not have allowed him to be eligible this year there.

The list of team rosters from the Top 48 Senior game is set out below.  As with the other games that preceded it and the ones that followed,   no D-I coaches were present, but there were plenty of fans, more than a few scout types (Clark Francis of HoopScoop, Jerry Freitas from The Caliornia Cage Report, Dave Nahabedian from Networkx, Greg Hicks and Tracy Pierson from PrepWestHoops, Dave Keefer from CaliforniaPreps.com, Mark Mayemura from Recruiting-USA, Frank Burlison and Louis Johnson from FoxSports.com, and SoCalHoops).... and there were also quite a few D-II, III and NAIA coaches in the gym, who weren't prohibited by silly new NCAA rules from being there.  And lastly, Frederick Smith, Jr. from VideoScouting.com was there filming each of the games, so if you're a D-I coach who missed out, you can always purchase a tape by contacting Frederick directly at (310) 523-3935.
