Travis Niesen Commits To Santa
Clara University--(Sept. 23, 2001)

We received an e-mail from Travis' father in the form of a press release.  Here's the text:

Travis Niesen, a senior at Mission Viejo High School (Mission Viejo, California) has given a verbal committment to attend Santa Clara University on a basketball scholarship next year.

Travis, a 6'7" forward, was an All Orange County and All CIF selection last  year as well as All South Coast League the past three years. He was also selected to the Best of the Best All Star Game the past two years at theWest Coast All Star Camp in Los Angeles. He is coached by Jeff Cunningham at Mission Viejo High School and by Rle Nichols at High Five America, his traveling team.

"It was a hard decision, but I chose Santa Clara University over a number of other schools for a few key reasons. I really like Coach Dick Davey and he has been recruiting me hard for the past year and a half. The school is well known for academics, and the basketball program is stable and successful. I met all the players on my official visit this weekend and I was convinced that this is the place for me."
