New CIF-SS Leagues For Basketball
(& Some Other Sports Too)--(Oct. 31, 2001)

Last night someone posted an inquiry about Rolling Hills Prep, Price and Ribet Academy's boys' basketball teams for the upcoming season, wanting to know how the three teams would stack up this year.   We posted a response, but like a lot of things that have slipped our attention lately, the fact that the CIF-Southern Section has recently formed three new leagues also kind of slipped right by us.  But we're here to give you the correct story, so here it is:

The CIF-SS has formed three new leagues for basketball this season (and for some other sports as well, which aren't relevant here), and while one of the leagues was sort of given a test run last season, it looks like it's officially here to stay (the American League), so we'll have to update our listings in our "High Schools" section accordingly.

The three new leagues are the listed below, and they will have the schools listed below competing in the sport of basketball this season (La Verne Lutheran is in the San Joaquin League for soccer only, so we haven't listed them here):
