Showcase Set For 10/21--(Oct. 1, 2001)

What: 2001 Fall Slam Jam Boys Basketball Showcase
When: Sunday, October 21, 2001
Where:  Moorpark College (118 Fwy, exit  @ Collins Dr.)
Who: 80+ Top HS Players

Jack Pollon, who has been running tournaments this summer under the banner of "Slam Jam Basketball" has announced that his group will stage a Fall Showcase event, featuring some of the top high school level AAU players on October 21, 2001 at Moorpark College.   There will be five games total, featuring many of the best players from all over SoCal, including players from the San Fernando Valley, Ventura County, Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley, South Bay, Orange County and the Inland Empire region.  The games will be held as follows:

Why three senior games?  We're not sure, but it's probably because there will be more senior players participating than in the other two classes, and likewise, we're not sure how the players will be divided up, but with three games, there will be ample playing time and opportunities for all of these guys to participate.   The only drawback that we know about with this event is that it will also conflict with one of the ARC series of weekend varsity tournaments, and it's possible that some of the players participating with their club (er, high school) teams may have to shuffle game times in order to be in both places at once.

There are a lot of familar names who you've heard about previously and some unknown players on the lists we've seen, but the bottom line is that this will be another of those fall events where we get to take a look at a lot of players who may be putting up some significant numbers or helping their teams to wins this year.   Players we've heard who are anticipated to participate are the following:
