Westchester's Brandon Bowman--(Nov. 15, 2001)
Ok, now that we've covered the West Coast conferences, there are a number of SoCal players who have signed with schools outside the region yesterday. Among them was Brandon Bowman (6'-6" Sr. F) from Westchester HS, who signed with Georgetown on the first signing day of the early period. Here's the official press release, which was brief and to the point, and issued this afternoon:

November 15, 2001 Washington DC . Georgetown University Mens Basketball Head Coach Craig Esherick announced today that Georgetown has received a National Letter of Intent from Brandon Bowman. The 6-8, 190 lb. Bowman, a sharpshooter from USA Todays #1 ranked Weschester High School in California, averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds as a Junior. The Santa Monica native did this on a team that, by the end of the year, will have produced 8 major prospects in the last two seasons. Bowman, ranked one of the nations most talented High Schoolers, chose Georgetown over Maryland, Stanford, Virginia, Connecticut, Kansas and Tennessee.
