As with the other signings we're reporting, here's the official press release from the University of Arizona announcing the signing of Hassan Adams (6'-4" Sr. G) from Westchester, as well as the signing of Chris Rodgers from Portland:
Men's Basketball Signs Pair to National Letters-of-Intent
Wildcats secure one of the nations's top recruiting classes.

TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's basketball coach Lute Olson announced Wednesday that two student-athletes have signed National Letters-of-Intent to attend the school and play basketball. The duo will report to the school in the Fall of 2002.Hassan Adams and Chris Rodgers each inked letters-of-intent during the first day of the November early signing period. Each player is rated in the top 100 nationally by Hoop Scoop Recruiting Service.
"Both of these guys will fit in beautifully here at Arizona," said Olson. "They are great kids, they work hard, are very team oriented, and are very solid students. The fans will really enjoy watching them play."
Adams, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound, guard from Los Angeles, Calif., is ranked as the nation's No. 6 shooting guard by Dave Telep of BlueChips.com and The Sporting News. Adams, who preps at Westchester High School, is a very athletic player with the ability to slash and get to the basket. He is ranked as the No. 19 recruit overall by College Basketball News' Chris Monter.
Adams played in the NBA Development Camp in New Jersey, the USA Basketball Development Camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., and the Nike Camp. He combines both power and athleticism at the guard spot and is a tenacious player on both ends of the court.
"Hassan really felt comfortable here," said assistant coach Jay John, Adams' lead recruiter. "He felt that he would get the most of his potential here at the U of A."
Rodgers, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound, guard from Portland, Ore., is ranked as the nation's No. 4 point guard by Dave Telep of BlueChips.com and The Sporting News. Rogers, who currently attends Woodrow Wilson High School, has the potential to play either guard spot and possesses a strong perimeter game. He is ranked as the No. 21 recruit overall by Clark Francis' Hoop Scoop recruiting service.
Rodgers also participated in the Nike Camp this past summer, as well as the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas and the Best of the Summer Tournament in Los Angeles. He is a solid ball-handler and has a knack for getting his teammates involved in the action.
"He is a real competitive kid," said assistant coach Rodney Tention, Rodgers' lead recruiter. "I really feel like he's looking forward to playing with guys like Salim (Stoudamire), Luke (Walton) and Rick (Anderson). He is very excited about coming here."
The Wildcats, ranked No. 12 in the current ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Top 25 Poll, will next be in action on Sat., Nov. 17, as the squad takes on No. 22 Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
