Jeff Hufford Joins UC Irvine
Anteaters' Program--(Nov. 1, 2001)

Here's another story of yet another SoCal player making a D-I program as a walk-on:  West Hills Chaminade's Jeff Hufford (6'-4" Fr. G/F), who graduated this past June, has made the team at UC Irvine. Hufford is an excellent defender with a good mid to long range shot and a high basketball I.Q. Similar to Michael Jenkins at Northwestern, Hufford was determined to continue playing basketball beyond high school, and he chose UC Irvine for non- basketball reasons but, knew he wanted to attempt to walk-on, and with some hard work made the team. Congratulations to Jeff and to the Anteaters, who open their season this Friday night at the Bren Center against a team from the Ukraine, "Korabel."
