Thomas Shewmake Commits
To CSUN--(Nov. 5, 2001)
We heard tonight from Thomas Shewmake's (6'-10" Sr. PF) high school coach, Rob Hanmer the head coach at Cathedral City HS, that Thomas verbally committed to Cal State Northridge coach Bobby Braswell today. Thomas, who has played for the Rockfish travel teams and in the RSL (Rockfish Spring League) for the past three summers, and who is certainly one of the better big men in the class of 2002 on the west coast, is a powerful and huge developing post player with excellent mobility and a nice touch around the rim. Apparently Thomas still has some work to do to gain NCAA freshman eligibility, but we're certain that he'll get it done and be a full qualifier by the end of the current season. Congratulations to Thomas and to the Matadors on a great pickup.
