"Inland" is Elvert "Kool Aid" Perry's program, and is not to be confused with IEBP, although they both draw from the same area. Elvert takes a kind of bad rap in the book "Sole Influence" (in which just about everyone connected with the clubs and shoe companies takes a bad rap, but then we're not exactly enamored of the book either). Elvert will be the first one to tell you that what he does is all about getting kids an education and keeping them off the streets and that unless you live where they live, "shut up, because you just don't know." And he's right, no one knows except the kids and their families and it's really nobody's business. . . Having said that he's also got some of the top players in the country, including Richard Cobbs, Antwain Wright, Lawrence Carrier, and many others. We're pretty sure that by the time the summer rolls around, this roster will have a few names added and it will be split into two teams for the Big Time. In fact, looking at the Mat's Madness pools, Kool will have two teams for that one. Inland plays at all the adidas events, and about 1/3 of this roster will likely also show up at ABCD this year. Always tough, competitive and Perry is a very entertaining coach as well as a great guy.
