oakland slam n jam

Probably one of the best Oakland S&J teams ever fielded, at least in our opinion. This roster below was from the Pump's Easter Tournament, and these guys won the whole thing, taking the championship. Oakland will also have three teams competing in the Mats' Madness event and at the Big Time, and they sponsor a tournament which is usually at the end of July (which this year means it will run simultaneously with the Pump's Best of Summer, so some teams will have to make a choice of where to be). A great program, one of the best. Chris Rivers of adidas has strong ties to the program and they have some of the premier players in the country. Also run the Slam-N-Jam Spring League, which is similar to what Rockfish do down here in Los Angeles, except that Calvin and his crew run it for a consistently longer period (like Ollie Goulston is doing with his own San Diego Super 60, which runs through the end of May, and thus serves more than just a "recruiting-window" purpose.. . that, by the way is not meant to be any kind of knock on the Rockfish, just an observation that both leagues run consistently longer than RSL).

Anyway, this team (the No. 1 team) could be the best travel team in the country this year. . we don't pretend to have seen every team, but these guys will kick anyone's butts, and won't think twice about it. Solid, huge-high major athleticism, and LeBron James is the closest thing to Kobe Bryant or Tracy McGrady since, well, since either one of them were in high school. . . and he's only going to be a junior next year.
