jan. 24, 2002 schedule

For those who won't either be at Pauley Pavilion (UCLA v. Stanford) or at the Sports Arena watching Cal v. USC, or even over at the Matadome for the CSUN v. CSUF game, or any of a dozen other places where all the college games will be going on all over SoCal (e.g., up in SLO for Cal Poly v. Long Beach State, down in San Diego for LMU v. San Diego, etc.), here's what's on schedule for the LA City & Southern Sections of the CIF in high school action. Games scheduled for today consist mainly of the small-schools leagues, which usually go at it on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and today will be no exception, although a few of the larger schools (Moore League, Ivy League, Mission League) leagues will be going at it also (e.g., the Ocean League will see if they can finally get Compton Centennial and Hawthorne together without a brawl).

But don't take our word for it about these games. Check with the schools, your local newspaper, or better yet, call ahead before you drive over to a game, because if it's not where we think it is, or has been rescheduled, that's not at all uncommon, particularly with some of the small-schools leagues. In any event, don't say we didn't warn you.....Have fun.
