Santa Clara HS Takes A Hit,
Loses Two Players-- (Jan 23, 2002)

According to news reports, Santa Clara High boys' basketball team, currently ranked No. 3 in the CIF-SCIBCA Division V-AA Poll, and No. 5 in the most recent SoCalHoops Top 20 Division V-AA Poll, has lost two starters for the remainder of the season. Point guard Adrian Santana suffered a torn ACL injury and will be out for the remainder of the season, and T. Peterson, a transfer student who has been averaging about 4 ppg, has returned home to New Jersey because of family matters.  Ricky Payne will replace Santana at the point guard slot while Jimmie Griffin will take Peterson's place.
