Here's the updated City Section Boys' playoff bracket showing first round results and second round matchups.  All second round games are at the higher seed's gym (meaning the team with the higher No. ranking is the home team).  All games are at 7:30 p.m. First round game details follow below.

Top half of the bracket:

No. 1 Westchester 96, No. 16 Cleveland 41 --Brandon Bowman scored 23 points and Hassan Adams added 22 for Westchester (25-2) in the win over Cleveland.  Westchester will host Carson in the quarterfinals this Wednesday.

No. 8 Carson 57, No. 9 Taft 48-- Carson (18-7) junior guard Samuel Hill scored 6 of his team-high 15 points during the fourth quarter. Steve Smith of Taft scored a game-high 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 steals in the loss. Eddie Miller scored 7 for Taft.  Carson will face Westchester in the second round quarterfinals.  Hill also collected 7 steals and five assists.  Carson junior wing Ekene Ibekwe scored 13 points and pulled down 14 rebounds while senior Marques Washington added 10 points.

No 5 Fremont 91, No. 12 Roosevelt 53-- Shelvion Williams scored 18 for Fremont (21-5) while four other Fremont players scored in double figures. M. Parrales scored 31 points for Roosevelt

No. 4 Crenshaw 88, No. 13 Franklin 70 --Marcus Williams and Jamal Walls each scored 21 points to lead host Crenshaw (20-7) over No. 13 Franklin.   Crenshaw will host Fremont in the quarterfinals.

Bottom half of the bracket:

No. 3 Dorsey 96, No. 14 Gardena 70 --Dorsey (18-6) was led by Gary Hamilton with 23 points, while senior guard Donald Wilson added 20 over visiting Gardena.  Dorsey will host Sylmar in the quarterfinals. 

No. 6 Sylmar 67, No. 11 Palisades 53-- Frank Robinson had 19 points to lead the Spartans (21-5) and Louis Darby added 15, while center Jeff Morse had eight for Sylmar.  Cory Counts had 13 points for Palisades.   Sylmar will travel to Dorsey for the quarterfinals.

No. 7 Narbonne 87, No. 10 North Hollywood 61 --Narbonne (19-7) was led by Uzoma Mmeje who scored 24 points and six rebounds,  and teammate Beto Delgado added 20 points and eight assists.  Jayson Quinones led North Holywood with 15, and DeAndre Lamar added 12 for the visiting Huskies (17-9) who were outscored 23-8 in the first quarter.   Narbonne will travel to No. 2 Fairfax for the quarterfinals.

No. 2 Fairfax 95, No. 15 Locke 67 --Fairfax (27-3) was led by Evans Burns with 30 points and seven rebounds while teammate sophomore Jahsha Bluntt had 16 points and nine rebounds in the win over Locke, which was led by Kevin Lewis with 29 points.  Jamal Boykin and Kevin Bell added 10 each for Fairfax, which will host No. 7 Narbonne on Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
