CIF-SS Div. I-AA Quarterfinals: And
Then There Were Four--(Feb. 23, 2002)
With Oxnard, the No. 4 seed knocked out of the playoffs prior to Friday night's quarterfinals, the other three seeds, No. 1 Eisenhower, No. 2 Long Beach Poly and No. 3 Miller were all still alive and all were looking for a berth in the semifinals. But after last night's action, only the top two seeds are left standing, as AB Miller fell to last year's finalist Capo Valley. In bracket order, here's what happened:
Eisenhower 72, Lakewood 68 (OT)
Millikan 47, Ayala 44
Capistrano Valley 78, A.B. Miller 63
LB Poly 90, Fontana 35
The semifinals will see Eisenhower v. Millikan (Millikan hosts, but the site is yet to be determined), and Long Beach Poly v. Capo Valley in a game which will be played at Long Beach City College. Both games will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. this Tuesday, February 26, 2002.
We'll post the bracket up separately. Here are the details from last night's games, including Capo Valley's upset of No. 3 seed AB Miller.
