First Round Results
No. 1 Riverside ML King--Bye
Bellflower 63, Bosco Tech 61 (OT) --Kendrick Sanders scored 18 points and Michael Hubbard added 17 points, eight rebounds and eight steals for Bellflower (15-13), which had a 13-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter. Bellflower plays at top-seeded King Friday night. Bosco finished 18-8.
Sonora 58, Laguna Hills 39 --Senior guard Jake Trejo scored 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals, including 12 in the second quarter for host Sonora (18-10) in the win over Laguna Hills (14-13) which was led by Marc Dimick with 10 and Matt Donat with 9. . Randy Rogers scored nine points on three three-pointers and David Mayfield finished with eight points. Laguna Hills Coach Dave Brown concluded his 34 year career with the loss. He has the third most wins of any Orange County coach with 527 wins.
San Marcos 78, Torrance 51 --details not availalble yet.
Brea Olinda 79, Wilson (HH) 63--Eric Giesler made seven three-pointers and had 27 points and Brent Smith had 13 points, 14 rebounds and blocked 10 shots for host Brea Olinda (22-7), which plays Cypress in the second round. Wilson is 15-11.

South Torrance 66, Los Amigos 52 --Scott Wilson scored 20 points for South Torrance (13-13). South Torrance plays fourth-seeded Elsinore Friday. Los Amigos finished 17-11. Tyler Graham contributed 18 points and Kevin Ritchie had 16 points and 12 boards for South Torrance.

West Torrance 54, Savanna 50 --West Torrance (13-14) was led by Dewayne Holyfield who scored 17 points in the win, while Curt Watson had 27 points and Turmel Woods had 18 points for Savanna (14-13). West outscored Savanna 21-10 in the third quarter and pulled out of reach early in the fourth quarter. Paul Nitake had 9 and Chris Brown eight for West Torrance.
La Habra 71 v. El Modena 59-- Marcellus Robertson's 23 points paced the visiting Highlanders (18-9).
Paso Robles 72, Long Beach Cabrillo 62 --Carlton Wilder had 22 points to lead host Paso Robles (19-5) over Cabrillo (13-14) which got 19 points from Jushay Rockett in the loss.
Whittier 62, Charter Oak 60 --Danny Carlos hit a layup with less than three seconds to play to give host Whittier (21-5) the win over Charter Oak (16-11). Michael Hernandez led Whittier with 21 points. Josh Baehr, who finished with 11 points, scored seven points in the third quarter for Charter Oak. Whittier outscored the Chargers 27-18 in the second quarter to take a 41-31 halftime lead.
Victor Valley 88, Perris 58 --Joe Holly scored 21 to lead host Victor Valley (20-6) in the win over Perris (8-19).Senior 6-1 guard DeJesus Brown added 16 points and Mike Thompson had six steals for the Jackrabbits. Brian Hunter led Perris with 20 points, while Andrew Green had 14.
Dos Pueblos 71, Arroyo 66 -- Seniors Jonathan Pickert and Ryan Glick scored 24 points each for Dos Pueblos. Jon Ramsdell and Kevin Iden contributed seven and six points respectively for the Chargers (14-10). Dos Pueblos -- Friesen 2, Staggs 2, Pickert 24, Weatherhead 2, Ramsdell 7, Glick 24, Iden 6, Talmage 4. Totals 23 19-23 72. Arroyo-- Rodriguez 2, Tran 6, Fottger 16, Payne 6, Chang 17, Tourtus 2, Whitfield 17. Totals 22 15-24 66. Dos Pueblos--19 20 14 19 -- 72 Arroyo--16 14 10 26 -- 66 3-point goals--DP 5 (Pickert 2, Glick 3), A 2 (Tran, Chang). Total fouls--DP 20, A 20. Fouled out--none. Technicals -- none.
No. 2 Santa Margarita 70, Gahr 25 --Brandon Rohe scored 19 points for No. 2 seed Santa Margarita (21-4) in the win over Gahr (9-19).
All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
