The bracket has been updated to reflect all first round and second games complete, and the quarterfinal matchups which will be played this coming Tuesday, February 19. Home teams are the teams with the fewest home games played previously. If both teams played on the road or at home in the first round, the host was determined by flipping a coin. Details and scoring in second round games played Friday night are shown below the bracket:

No. 4 Montclair Prep 49, Flintridge Prep 23-- Host Flintridge Prep (11-12) missed its first nine shots as Montclair Prep (15-11) scored the first 10 points of the game and it only got worse for the Rebels, who were outsized in the loss. Flintridge was led by Connor O'Byrne and Prescott Gadd with 6 points each. Montclair Prep was led by Nick Stiggers with 21 points and 10 rebounds. No. 3 Serra 135, Boys Republic 32 --Eugene Jeter had a game-high 27 points to lead Serra (24-3), which came within three points of the school record for points in a game. Serra plays Kilpatrick in the quarterfinals Tuesday. Jeffrey Arnold added 19 points, seven steals and eight assists. Eugene Hackett had 19 points and Ronald Carter had 18 points. Chris Hemphill finished with 11 points. Loren Wade added 10. Samir Hernandez had seven assists, seven steals and eight rebounds, and Conte Shumate had nine rebounds.

Kilpatrick 68, Desert 41 --Kenneth Eatman scored 24 points to lead Kilpatrick (20-4) Eugene Hutchinson scored 23 for Desert (16-7).

Western Christian 53, San Gabriel Academy 42-- Blake Allison scored 12 points for Western Christian (20-7). Chris Ostos scored 17 points for San Gabriel Academny (19-7). Western Christian and Calvary Chapel will meet this Tuesday night in the quarterfinals at Calvary Chapel Downey.

No. 2 Calvary Chappel Downey 73, Chadwick 45 --Senior point guard and Utah-signee Timothy Drisdom had a quadruple double with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists and 10 steals to lead Calvary Chapel Downey (23-4). Ralph Miley scored 21 for the Grizzlies. Chadwick finishes 12-8.

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
