Quarterfinal Results & Details--(Feb. 20, 2002)
The bracket has been updated to reflect all first and quarterfinal round games, and semifinal matchups are shown. Home teams are the teams with the fewest home games played previously. If both teams have the same number of home games, the home team (which gets to select the "alternate site" for the semifinals) is determined by a coin-flip. Details and scoring in quarterfinal round games is shown below the bracket:

V-A--Quarterfinal Round Game Results, Played Tuesday 2/19/02
Upper Half of Bracket
No. 1 Price 113, Hesperia Christian 49-- Junior forward Oscar Edwards scored 18 points to lead No. 1 seed Price (25-6).
Orangewood Academy 64, No. 4 Antelope Valley Christian 56 --Warren Tamnaha had 24 points for Orangewood Academy (18-3), which plays top-seeded Price in the semifinals Friday.
Lower Half of Bracket
Desert Chapel 79, No. 3 Rio Hondo Prep 72 (3OT)--Reed Ritchie scored 31 points and had 26 rebounds in the upset for Desert Chapel (20-3), which plays second-seeded Stoneridge Prep in the semifinals Friday. Devon Drain had 34 points, including 10 three pointers, for No. 3 seed Rio Hondo (12-9) in the loss. Desert Chapel erased a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to pull off the win. Rio Hondo Prep held a 43-29 halftime lead. No. 2 Stoneridge Prep 89, Eastside Christian 61--Junior James Spencer scored 41 points and had seven steals to lead the host Wildcats of Tarzana (22-5) into the semifinals for the first time in the school's history. T.J. Fakehinde and Oneil Cousins had 25 points each for Eastside Christian (10-16).
All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
