Yet Another Clarification:
Ganesha's Efevberha
Will Play Against Muir--(Feb. 18, 2002)
When there's an error in one of our reports, we'll correct it or clarify it where necessary. This is one of those situations requiring both a correction and a clarification:
Over the weekend on Saturday, we reported (based on one published newspaper account and on an e-mail sent to us from someone who claimed to be in attendance at the game) that when Ganesha beat Banning on Friday night, "Michael Efevberha scored 26 points, but was ejected after a flagrant foul. As a result of the ejection, Efevberha will have to sit out Ganesha's next round playoff game...."
Well, it seems that report was wrong.
As most know, we were not personally present at the game, but according to one of the officials that was at the game who spoke with us on a condition of anonymity, clarified the situation: There was no player ejection, only an intentional foul which was called on the player; he was thereafter removed from the game by his own coach, not as a result of any official action. According to this same official, the CIF-SS is also aware of the nature of the call, and the fact that there was no player ejection.
So, Michael Efervberha, who has committed to UC Irvine and will sign with them in the late spring signing period, will in fact be eligible to play in the game against Muir tomorrow.
