Better late than never, we say. The LA City Section coaches have now selected the "All-City" teams, which is the functional equivalent of the Southern Section's "All-CIF" teams in a single division. And with 49 schools in the entire section (62 if you want to include the Magnet Conference), it really is similar to one of the Southern Section's enrollment divisions, like I-AA.
The following list was actually released to the public last Sunday, March 24, 2002, in the Los Angeles Times, but we never got around to posting it here until now. Hey, don't complain, because the official LA City Section website hasn't been updated yet either. Predictably, the two best players in the City Section, Evan Burns of Fairfax and Hassan Adams of Westchester, were chosen as the co-players of the year. Here are the LA City Section "Al.l-City" selections for the 2001-2002. Congratulations to everyone selected from SoCalHoops.
