What: Double Pump "Discovery Shootout"
When: March 16-17, 2002
Where: Lynwood HS
Who: 36 teams of underclassmen & unsigned seniors

The annual Double Pump Spring Discovery Shootout will take place this weekend and it will feature some of the regions top underclassmen and unsigned seniors competing in teams that will play three games on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. While the event is not certified by the CIF or the COA (meaning Division I men's basketball coaches can't attend) NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and JUCO coaches are not under the same restrictions and will be out in force. We don't have rosters (yet) for the teams that will be participating, but this event usually attracts some of the best teams and players from Southern California and Arizona, and it will again this year. Bob Gottlieb will be bringing three teams of mostly unsigned seniors, Elliot Glabman will be brining his Arizona Heat teams, and Harry Wilson will bring his CABC squads, and the Rock Johnson will bring his I-Can All Stars among others. The event will be competing for our attention with the Rockfish Spring League which will be going on at Los Angeles City College on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the State Regional Finals in Long Beach on Saturday, but somehow we'll find time to cover it all.

We'll have some of the rosters shortly, but in the meantime, if you're a coach and familiar with the names of teams or a player wanting to know when you'll play, here are the schedules for Saturday and Sunday.
