Leon Rosborough Commits To Play For
Vanguard University--(April 25, 2002)

Both the Los Angeles Times and the Riverside Press-Enterprise today reported that Leon Rosborough (6'-5" Sr. G/F), a very talented wing player who helped lead his Riverside MLK team to the State Division II Championship after only being in existence for two seasons, has announced that he's committed to play at Vanguard University, an NAIA school which is a member of the very competitive GSAC conference.   The GSAC also features such traditionally strong basketball schools as Azusa Pacific University, Westmont, Biola, and others.

Rosborough played travel ball for Elvert "Kool Aid" Perry's adidas-sponsored Inland basketball club team, and many of us who have frequented the gyms at LACC over the years have gotten to be quite familiar with Leon's game both in and outside the "season of sport" and in addition to being a terrific rebounder and slasher, he can handle the ball with the best of the guards in the class.   His club team has featured some of the top talent from the Riverside and San Bernardino area, including guys like Donovan Morris (6'-4" Sr. G), who is still uncommitted, and one of the top juniors, Tron Smith (6'-1" SG) of San Gorgonio, as well as possibly the top freshman point guard in the state, Andre McGee, who could perhaps be the best guard in any class on the West Coast....Ok, so there are a few better, but this kid is certainly one of the best.

Congratulations to Leon on his selection of a school and good luck from SoCalHoops.
