This weekend marks the beginning of the 10th Annual Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Classic. Formerly known as the "Long Beach Fall Hoops Classic," Dinos Trigonis has held this event at Lynwood for the past few years, and the nice thing about Lynwood is that it allows for viewing multiple games simultaneously. Of course, one of the drawbacks is that it allows viewing multiple games simultaneously, since it doesn't really allow one to focus on just one game at a time. In a lot of ways, we miss the old venue, at Long Beach City College....But Lynwood is a more central to most of the players and involves less travel, and it's a lot easier to get in and out of than was LBCC, at least for us. There should be a lot of top players, at least those who aren't off on official visits this weekend. Belmont Shore should feature most of the usual suspects (Harrison Schaen, Wesley Washington, etc), Sports Express will have a lot of top players as usual, and we can always count on Rock Johnson's I-CAN teams to have some of the best unknown talent anywhere on the west coast. Most of the teams have familiar names, but like a lot of these tournaments, until we see rosters on Friday, we just won't know who is playing for whom.
