We received an e-mail from Dinos Trigonis last night and wanted to get the word out about this one quickly because, unfortunately we won't be able to be there in person (we're flying back to New Hampshire this weekend, to Brewster Academy, but that's a whole different story....), but a lot of other people will. Dinos will still hold his tournament next weekend, but this weekend he will hold the Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase, an annual event where the best players in each class showcase their skills. 2002 Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase
Set For Sunday September 8th at Los Alamitos HSThe 6th annual Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase will be held on Sunday September 8, 2002 at Los Alamitos HS. Los Alamitos HS is located at 3591 Cerritos Avenue, Los Alamitos CA 90720.
The event schedule is as follows:
10:00am Top 24 Freshman Game 11:30am Top 48 Sophomore Game 1:00pm Top 24 Sophomore Game 2:30pm Top 48 Junior Game 4:00pm Top 24 Junior Game 5:30pm Top 48 Senior Game 7:00pm Top 24 Senior Game Top players expected to participate include seniors 6’9" Ekene Ibekwe (Carson), 6’3" Wesley Washington (Mater Dei), 6’9" Harrison Schaen (Mater Dei), 5’10" Kevin Bell (Fairfax), 6’5" D.J. Strawberry (Mater Dei), 6’7" Ruben Boykin (Los Angeles University), juniors 6’4" Curtis Allen (Rolling Hills Prep), 6’2" Gabriel Pruitt (Westchester), 6’6" Marcel Jones (Mater Dei), 6’4" Arron Aflalo (Compton Centennial), 6’5" Josh Shipp (Fairfax) and sophomores Jamal Boykin (Fairfax), Marcus Johnson (Westchester), 6’9" Amir Mosby-Johnson (Verbum Dei), 6’4" Brian Harvey (Carson), 6’10" Brett Horner (Fullerton), 6’7" Rashad Austin (Claremont) and 6’4" Edward White (Harvard-Westlake).
Several NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and JUCO coaches as well as media and scouts are expected to attend including national scout Clark Francis (HoopScoop), and VideoScouting.com will also be there videotaping each game; tapes will be available for purchase by players, fans and coaches.
