Fullcourt Press Championship &
All-Tournament Selections--(Sept. 16, 2002)

After spending most of Saturday at the Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Classic, unfortunately, we couldn't make the Sunday games, but Dinos Trigonis sent us a report of the final game as well as a list of the all-tournament selections.  Here's the report he sent us.  Sounds like an exciting game....sorry we missed it.

To Win 10th annual Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Classic

(September 16, 2002)

Belmont Shore, behind the offensive spark of tourney co-MVPs 6’3" senior Wesley Washington (Mater Dei/committed to Cal) and 6’6" senior Justin Hawkins (Lakewood Mayfair/committed to Utah) as well as the floor leadership of 6’1" senior point guard Brian McFadden (Lakewood Mayfair), cruised to a 13 point half-time lead, engaged in a see-saw battle with California Team Select in the 2nd half and then needed a McFadden mid-range game winning shot with 11 seconds remaining to capture the 10th annual Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Classic this past weekend. Hawkins and Washington both had 19 points for Belmont Shore (which knocked off BWBA Orange in the semi-finals) while Cal Team Select (who bested the Los Angeles Paladins in their semi-final contest) were led by 6’5" junior Josh Shipp (Fairfax) – game high 23 points.
