Big West Conference Radio. Broadcasts of some Big West Conference basketball games, as well as some D-II Cal Poly Pomona games this season will be heard as far away as Corona this season on radio station KWRM (1370 AM), which by day features foreign-language programming, but which by night recently launched a sports programming block in the evening. The sports block includes a two-hour Big West show Tuesday nights (6:30-8:30 p.m.), according to Long Beach Press-Telegram Columnist Bob Kiesser, who reported on the Big West media news in his September 13, 2002 column. According to Keisser, Mark Roberts, who does play-by-play for UC Irvine basketball and baseball, and Rob Bruska, a Long Beach resident who is the voice for the same two sports at Cal State Fullerton, are the co-sports directors for the station and co-hosts of the show. While basketball is the obvious primary topic, it will also feature segments on other sports. In addition to hosting the Big West show, Roberts and Bruska also co-host a high school/college show on Wednesdays. KWRM is the home for Fullerton and UC Irvine basketball and baseball, and Cal Poly Pomona will also broadcast a dozen Friday night basketball games this season.

High School Hoops.....Pictures, Pictures, Pictures.....
While perusing some old issues of the Ventura County Star online, we discovered that they've got some great photos taken by the staff photographers for that paper from last season (2001-02). These photos are all archived into separate slideshows and can be found at this link (a general link, in case you are interested also in seeing photos of prep baseball, football, etc)... The general link is fine if you want to search for basketball photos yourself by date, but we'll make it easy for you....Here are the links with photos only of basketball action from last year, which can still be retrieved...There's no telling how long they will remain online, so if you're interested in archiving them for your own personal files, you'd better go check them out while they're still available:
