We received the following press release from our friend Mike Zapolski, the Associate Athletics Director at Pepperdine announcing a youth basketball clinic which will be hosted by the Pepperdine Men's basketball program on November 16, 2002 at Oaks Christian HS in Westlake Village, just off the 101 Freeway. Here's what we received:

PEPPERDINE MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM TO HOST YOUTH CLINIC NOVEMBER 16 AT OAKS CHRISTIAN HIGH

Head coach Paul Westphal and the Pepperdine men's basketball team will host a free youth clinic on November 16 at Oaks Christian High in Westlake Village beginning at 9 a.m.

The clinic is designed for area youth between the ages of 5-12 plus all youth basketball coaches.

All coaches and youth attending the clinic will receive a complimentary coupon valid for free admission to the Waves' home game on November 30 against local rival UC Irvine.

Pepperdine basketball pocket schedules and schedule posters will be available, plus information on purchasing single-game or season tickets.

Following the 90-minute clinic, the Pepperdine team will conduct an open practice session at the Oaks Christian facility.

Pepperdine returns nine letterwinners, including four starters, from last season's 22-9 ballclub that tied Gonzaga for the regular season West Coast Conference title and earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.

The Waves' 2002-03 schedule includes home games with NCAA Tournament teams Gonzaga, Oregon, UC Santa Barbara and Utah.
