Around The CCAA: Cal Poly Pomona
Signs Two Locals--(Nov. 20, 2002)

The California Collegiate Athletic Conference is, quite possibly, one of the, if not the premiere Division II conference in the country.  And just like their D-I brethren, a lot of the schools in D-II also participate in the National Letter of Intent program, which means that just like the D-I's, players sign national letters during the early signing period in November and in the late signing period in the spring.

So we were not a bit surprised when we heard over the past two days from our friends Cal Poly Pomona that head coach Greg Kamansky (now in his 3rd year) had picked up NLI's from two SoCal players:    The first is Sinqua Walls (6'-3" Sr. G) from El Segundo HS, and the other is from Kaelen Daniels (6'-6" Sr. C) from Artesia HS.   Both of these guys will join a solid team next year which includes a lot of very good players from around the region, and which last season was ranked as high as 10th in the Western Region D-II.

Walls is a solid 200 lb guard who originally began his prep career at Pacific Hills, while Daniels is a hefty 250 lb center who will help plug the middle for Artesia this season.

Sorry, no official press release, but that's why we're here.....
