Dinos Trigonis sent us an e-mail over the weekend with the details of the Media Day Luncheon for the upcoming Dream Classic, which makes its return to UCLA's Pauley Pavilion after a four-year absence at that venue (the past two years its been held at LMU). The Media Luncheon (which is open to the public subject to the admission charge for the lunch--see below), will be held Friday, January 3, 2003, at Lawry's The Prime Rib, located on La Cienega in Beverly Hills, and it sounds like it's going to be a first-rate way to get ready for what will be the premier event in high school hoops this season. Here's what we know:

Media Luncheon Friday January 3rd at Lawry's (Beverly Hills)

The 9th annual Pangos Dream Classic presented by PlyoCity will be held on Saturday January 4, 2003 at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. This year's event features the #1 player in the nation 6'7" senior LeBron James and his nationally ranked St. Vincent-St. Mary Irish (Akron OH) taking on Street & Smith preseason basketball yearbook's #1 HS team in the nation Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana CA).

This year's event will also include the Pangos Dream Classic Media Luncheon on Friday January 3rd at world famous Lawry's Prime Rib in Beverly Hills from 12:30pm-3:00pm. Lawry's is located at 100 North La Cienega Blvd.,Beverly Hills CA 90211 (310) 652-2827. The cost of attending is $30.00 (which includes lunch) and can be purchased at the door that day. Reservations are highly recommended and all interested parties should call Phil Gatton at (714) 272-9449 to confirm their attendance. All media and members of the general public are welcome to attend.

The 2003 Pangos Dream Classic presented by PlyoCity game schedule on January 4th is as follows:

4:45pm Centennial (Compton CA) vs. Carson (Carson CA)
6:30pm Mater Dei (Santa Ana CA) vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron OH)
8:15pm Lincoln (Brooklyn NY) vs. Vallejo (Vallejo CA)
