Favorite National Recruiting Sites |
HoopScoop --Clark Francis' recruiting service. A free area is updated daily with recruiting teasers from the subscription material, which is much more in depth than what you'll see on the visitors section. National in scope, Clark also writes for ESPN and other publications. There is news from past prep tournaments, and a calendar of upcoming events. One of the most comprehensive sites in the business, from someone who has been doing it longer than anyone else still involved in reporting on recruiting.
Hoopmasters.com-- This is the new site where Bob Gibbons and Van Coleman have combined to do their thing. In fact, a visit to Gibbons' old site will take you to this new site. Subscription only.
TheInsiders.com--Formerly two separate sites (Dave Telep's Blue Chip Hoops, and the old PrepWestHoops site), this site now features Telep, Tracy Pierson, and Greg Hicks, providing coverage of events from coast to coast. Message boards, info and daily updates, including player evaluations and lists of top players. Subscription required.
RivalsHoops.com--The home of what used to be "Insider's Report" and "JUCO Junction" but is now just RivalsHoops.com. Mike Sullivan still does a lot of the content here, and they have added others to help out. Still an excellent source of daily dose news for recruiting junkies.
PrepStars Recruiter's Handbook --(Mostly Subscription)--Brick Oettinger's national recruiting website. Feature profiles on up-and-coming college prospects, national rankings for elite-level players, daily recruiting news and tidbits, and college team profiles as well other information you can't live without.
ESPN College Hoops & Recruiting-- Now features Michael Kruse, and stuff from our own local guys, Dave Benezra and Mark Mayemura (who seem to have closed up Recruiting USA, at least for the time being). Recruiting news at ESPN can be found by scrolling down to the lower right hand side of their college basketball page.
Monter Draft & College Basketball News --Chris Monter has put together a monster site, which covers just about everything from college recruiting, player news and notes, to NBA draft analysis. The site is now just about entirely all subscription, but it's well worth it.
Mike De Courcy & Sporting News Recruiting --Columns on college hoops and recruiting news from The Sporting News.
Official College Sports Network's Recruiting --What used to be called the "FansOnly.com" network has been rebranded the "Official College Sports Network" or OCSN. Fox.Sports.com --Columnist and recruiting reporter Frank Burlison used to be the mainstay of this site, but he's not there now. Still has some interesting news, but not much that you won't find elsewhere.
Bob Gibbons All Star Report -- see Hoopmasters.com above. This site is on the way out, and will eventually go away entirely as Hoopmasters.com takes off.

CNN/SI's College Basketball Recruiting --An index of the most recent college basketball recruiting stories from CNN/SI.
CBS Sportsline's Recruiting Newswire-- Columns from Dan Wetzel ("Sole Influence"), with a separate section for "Recruiting" news and wire stories, but you have to look closely because hoops is mixed with football stufft...look for "Grassroots" stories).
