Los Angeles, CA: Fourth Annual Nike Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Challenge
When: January, 19, 1998, at Pauley Pavilion, UCLA Campus. This could be the strongest group of teams ever fielded for this event. This year's tournament will feature at least eight of the best teams in SoCal, which will also be featured in the Best in the West Tournament which will take place three weeks beforehand, December 26-30. This year's only real "dark horse" candidates are perennial power Mater Dei which appears to be in a rebuilding mode, and Glendora. When: Feb. 14, 15, 16, 1998. For Boys: AAU & Club Teams: Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. This tournament will be used for seeding of the 1998 Boys' SPA AAU Regional Tournament.
