We've posted the team pool assignments for all of the teams participating in the Best of Summer Tournament, as well as first day schedules for each team. With the recent enactment by the NCAA of some new legislation governing certification for men's non-scholastic tournaments and events, there are a few new wrinkles and things which teams and coaches must know about.
ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES MUST BE PRESENT AT CHECK-IN FOR THE MANDATORY NCAA EDUCATIONAL SESSION
Team "check-in" is at Loyola Marymount University ONLY and teams MUST check-in prior to your first game time. If you are scheduled to play your first game at Lynwood High School, you MUST plan to check your team in at LMU prior to your first game. Double Pump staff will be available for check-in at 9:00am at LMU.
At the time of check-in, you will be required to submit the following:
1. NCAA Event Participation Form (Roster)
2. NCAA Financial Disclosure/Team Income-Expense Form
3. Verification of Coachs Certification
Don't even think of participating without these items. Keep in mind also that the NCAA has imposed a 100-mile rule on the composition of teams. Unless a player has been granted a specific waiver from Rule 30.16 (l), all players from all teams have to be either from the same state or must reside within 100-miles of the location of the team. There are no penalties for players who violate the rule, but the burden falls on event operators, and as a result, no team will be permitted to play unless they turn in their rosters and they comply with the new rules (as distasteful as they are).
