This is our sixth season featuring CIF (LA City, Central, San Diego, and Southern Section) high school team and league profiles and previews.  Prior year's profiles and reports can be found in the Archives--linked below. 

This year, we're going to provide a blend of previews and profiles: Abbreviated league profiles, some in-depth team looks, and maybe even some individual coach and player profiles thrown in just for the fun of it.  This year, we expect our information from San Diego and LA City to be substantially more complete than in prior years, thanks largely to the efforts of the San Diego Coaches' Association and here in LA, a dedicated group of people, including Jack Pollon, Joel Green, Steve Spiegel, and many, many others.  And because SoCalHoops is more than just our own original content (and always has been), we'll be excerpting from most of the local newspapers' own pre-season previews and profiles too, thereby providing a handy way to access as much information (as well as links to more) in one place.  We're going to try again this season to cover as many teams in Southern Section as we can, but given the overwhelming number (more than 500), we just can't hope to profile every team.  Wider breadth means, of necessity, less depth. Everything in life is a tradeoff, but we think at the least, this will give most people as much, if not more information than they really need to know.
